This Veteran’s Day, the CSM family has a cool story to go along with the honor and privilege afforded to all Americans living free.
In a message to the company, CSM’s CEO Jim Moeller said: “Thank you, veterans, for the sacrifices you’ve made to protect our country and our freedoms. CSM is proud to have many veterans in our work family. We’re blessed and honored to have them working alongside us. Please help me in extending our sincere appreciation to our veterans and continue to be a workplace home for a growing number of CSM associates that are military veterans.” The statement came with a special video from the University of Wisconsin.
In the above video, CSM associate and Airman Greg Slattery received a special welcome home in front of a sold out stadium of 80,000 people. The moment went viral, as a national audience took note of the touching moment.
Besides being a returning hero, Greg Slattery is also a technician with Dedicated Fleet Services. He hired on in March of 2017. Rod Swan, General Manager of Dedicated Fleet Services, glows when talking about Greg’s contributions to his country. Additionally, Swan praises Greg’s intangibles as a CSM employee. “Technician extraordinaire,” said Swan, “he’s not afraid to write repair orders, wait on customers, enhance his skill set.. you name it!”
Hiring soldiers appeals to Swan. He says veterans and reservists respect authority and handle procedures with ease. He also says they think outside the box, have a tendency to be very loyal, and strive to do more. “Greg has been a welcomed and valued asset of Dedicated Fleet Services and beyond. We miss him dearly when he’s gone, but we appreciate both his and his family’s commitment to our freedoms.”
